Greetings from Mayor Lennie White

On behalf of my council colleagues, staff a resident of Westville, I want to thank you for the checking out our town online and encourage you to visit us in person soon. You will find a warm welcome awaits you as you visit our popular eating establishments, visit the Pictou County Military museum, stroll our beautiful Acadia Park, or cool off at the Splash pad.

Westville was incorporated in 1894 as a coal mining community and although the coal mines have been closed for many years, we are proud of our heritage and the community created by those early settlers.

Westville is known for our many celebrations during the year. The highlight of those being our July 1st Canada Day Celebrations. We are proud of this long-standing tradition with the distinction of hosting the longest continuous celebration of July 1st in Canada!

Westville has a very engaged citizenry who have created a great place to live, raise a family and enjoy a peaceful quality of life.

Our council, in partnership with numerous volunteer organizations, are focused on continuing to enhance the experience of living in our town with a strong sense of community spirit. The current Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to delay our public engagement meetings during the last several months. We look forward to the day we can resume these sessions.

We are available at anytime to discuss while we believe you should consider Westville, as your next move as a business opportunity or a resident.

Lennie White

Mayor The Town of Westville
