Westville Police is currently accepting applications for a permanent/part-time Police Constable. Requirements: A graduate of the Atlantic Police Academy or an equivalent Police Training facility. All former graduates from the Atlantic Police Academy or equivalent Police Training Facility may be considered. CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK - Persons who have been found guilty of and/or convicted of a criminal offence must have received an absolute discharge or a pardon. Candidates must submit to a criminal record check from local police service and sign the criminal consent form giving permission for a background check. Westville Police Service is looking to recruit a person interested in working as a Crossing Guard at a designated school crosswalk. Applicant must like being outside and working with school aged children. Work regular part-time, 2 hours a day, 20 hours per pay period.

Westville Police Service is looking to recruit a person interested in working as a Crossing Guard at a designated school crosswalk. Applicant must like being outside and working with school aged children. Work is regular part-time, 2 hours a day, 20 hours per pay period. Candidates must meet the security clearance requirements administered by the Westville Police Service. Training and safety equipment will be provided by the Westville Police Service. Resumes can be dropped off at Westville Police Service located at 2020 Queen Street, Westville, Nova Scotia or emailed to lohara@westville.ca Full details of the Crossing Guard position Duties & responsibilities · Safely escort school children across crosswalks throughout the Town of Westville. · Enforce all policies and procedures in the operation of the crosswalk. · Abide by all laws dealing with pedestrian traffic at the crosswalk. · Report any problems or safety concerns arising at the assigned crosswalk. Skills & abilities · Ability to stand or walk 2 – hours a day in all weather conditions. · Ability to maintain control under pressure. · Ability to work within minimum supervision. Hours of work: Various shifts leading up to 2.0 hrs/day Monday to Friday, when school is in attendance for the 10 months of the school year
